Whitnall Youth Baseball & Fastpitch is 100% Volunteer-Run
Without everyone pitching in, our children would not have a league! Our current board members have been working diligently to make WYB/F the premier league for our area - but it takes everyone to allow the program to be truly successful.
Recreational League Volunteering Requirements
Required for all Rec level families
2 volunteering time slots per family
(Options include: Concession stand, coaching, 4th of July and others)
2019 Volunteer Procedures
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
When registering for our recreation league, a $150 volunteering deposit will be due by credit card or check and will be processed immediately. Upon completion of your volunteering requirement, Whitnall Youth Baseball will refund the $150 to the person who submitted payment.
If you would like to opt out of volunteering for the 2019 season, please check the box on the registration page to opt out and Whitnall Youth Baseball will retain your $150 payment.
Working in the Concession stand during the Week: Help operate the concession stand for 3.0 hours on a weeknight along with 3 to 4 other parents.
Participate in the 4th of July Beer Tent Fundraiser: Help operate the beer and burger tent on the 4th of July at Holz Motors in Hales Corners. Time slots are 4 hrs long.
Recreational Team Assistant Coach: Help the team manager to help the kids in the program learn more about life and baseball and softball.
Recreational Team Manager: Take a leadership role in running a rec team and teaching kids how to play the game
Program Coordinators: Interested in doing more but can't commit to being a board member? As a coordinator, you will have tasks like helping run the concession stand or help maintain the park
Board Member: Interested in shaping the current and future of the program? Board member roles vary from President to Director of Technologies and offer many different ways for you to contribute with your own personal talents.
Requirements / Benefits
As a concession stand worker: you are required to work 3.0 hours on a week night and you get to meet and work with other parents in the program. Working in the concession stand counts as 1 volunteering time slot towards the standard volunteering requirements.
As a 4th of July beer tent worker: you are required to work 1 complete time slot (4 hrs) on the 4th of July. Working the tent is one of the most popular ways of volunteering. Working the 4th of July tent counts as 2 time slots and completes the standard volunteering requiremenets for the Rec program
As a rec team assistant coach: you are required to attend the majority of the games and participate in a coaching clinic or the park cleanup event
As a rec team manager: you are required to attend the majority of the games, participate in the managers meeting and pickup from and return of all equipment
As a program coordinator: you are required to perform the tasks assigned by the board. You will receive the additional benefits of no fundraising requirements or volunteering deposit.
As a board member: you are required to perform all tasks assigned by the board and help form the direction of the program today and into the future. You will receive additional benefits of no fundraising requirements, volunteering deposit and no registration fee for your first child.
5 days prior to your shift, your time slot will be locked - Once slots are locked, you will need to find a replacement to work your shift in the event you cannot make it.
If you are scheduled to volunteer in concessions and games are canceled, you will need to select another volunteer opportunity to fulfill your requirement. If games begin and then have to be called due to storms, that night will count towards your credits.
