ATTENTIONALL BASEBALL COACHES !!!!! (That'sYou, the Pee-Wees,JrFalcons, Minors, Majors & Seniors)

Theleague has scheduled 2 Pre-Season Clinics to cover the ins and outs ofcoaching your team. All coaches are requested to attend one of thesessions.

Theclinics will held at 6:30 in the Whitnall High School cafeteria on thefollowing dates:

2/25– Featuredspeaker is Jim Hughes

Jim is the Franklin HighSchool Head Baseball Coach and member of theWI Coaches Hall of Fame.

3/4Featuredspeakers are Scott Schimmel & Ryan Mentkowski

Scott is the NewBerlin Eisenhauer Head Baseball Coach & willconcentrate on catching.
Ryan is the former Whitnall High Schoolpitching coach/formerBig 10 Freshman of the Year at the University of Iowa and willbe speaking about the art of pitching.

KellyTotero and Kristin Kosobuckiwill be conducting a pitching clinic for all WYB Fast Pitch SoftballPlayers.

Thisyear Whitnall Youth Baseball is proud to be hosting theAquafina� Major League Baseball� PITCH, HIT &RUN� competition on May 8th. (Rain date of May15th)

This competition provides youngsters across the country an opportunityto participate in an exciting baseball and softball skills competition.
This national initiative gives boys and girls, ages 7 - 14, the chanceto showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Boys andgirls compete separately PITCH, HIT & RUN� isintended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the "FUN"element of baseball/softball. Since there is NO registration fee, everyone hasthe opportunity to participate. PITCH, HIT & RUN�tests three of the most fundamental aspects of baseball/softball - pitching,hitting and running.

PITCH: Participant is tested throwing strikes to a designated�Strike Zone� target.
HIT: Youngster hits a ball off a stationary tee for distance andaccuracy.
RUN: Youngster is timed, starting from second base, touching third thenhome.

All of the events are individually scored and converted to a totalpoint score through the use of conversion tables.
Participants will compete in each of the three components of PITCH, HIT& RUN�, and accumulate a total score based on his/herperformance.

Winners will advance to the Sectional level, and then have a chance tomove on to play at the National Level at the MLB� All-Star Game.

U12 Whitnall Girls finish their season on a high note!

The U12�s finished their season with a 3rd Place finish in the Whitnall Summer Slam- The season ended the way it began, with the girls playing to the potential we as coaches knew they could! The weekend was filled with some spectacular offensive and defensive play- It was truly rewarding to work with this group of young women this past year and we wish them all the best as they move forward! Congratulations once again to Liz, Ana, Kim, Jessa, Elizabeth, Krista, Lauren, Amanda, Mandy, Valeri, Renee, and AnnMarie!

WYB Girls U10's 1st Place Finish

The Whitnall U-10's placed 1st this past weekend at the first annual Whitnall Summer Slam tournament at Schoetz Park. The team went 6-0 over the 3 days and knocked off a talented Falls Angels team 8-2 in the championship game on Sunday afternoon. The girls are 23-11 on the season with their final tournament this coming weekend in Germantown. Hopefully you have had a chance to watch this team play because they are a joy to watch. In 5 tournaments this year the team has finished in the top 4 (a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd) on four occasions and took 7th at the State Tournament in July. The coaching staff couldn't be happier with the play of all the girls. Every single girl had a hand in at least one of our victories this past weekend. Notable highlights: Alex Cimler striking out 17 and picking up two hits in the championship game; Kayla Jaskulski with a grandslam and Christie Hill with a 3-run triple in bracket play; Kailey Matel with a 2-run double and great defense at SS in the championship game; Emily Hafemann with timely hitting all weekend and a long double during pool play; Emily LaMonte pitching the team to a victory and delivering two hits in their first game on Friday ; and Kathryn Bay with great defense at 2B and superb baserunning including a steal of home in the semi-finals. This team has never been about the individual accomplishments though, it is always team first. They understand that it takes the efforts of everyone to be successful. Congratulations girls, you've earned it!
