Frequently Asked Questions
What days are the games played?
Whitnall aims to have our final schedule wrapped up soon, but it always depends on exactly how many teams we field. We understand that you have a hectic schedule, so most of our divisions will play on the same day(s) each week. Some weeks there is one game, some weeks there are two games, and some weeks it rains! Although we can guarantee games for our home games to be on certain days, New Berlin and Greendale cannot. So, we can completely control games days for peewees, jr falcons, and boys minors, but we cannot control game days for away games in the upper levels due to other community field availability. Those teams may play on other days than those listed in the description.
How many games makeup a season?
You can expect to play between 10-12 regular season games if the weather cooperates. Each year we have a season ending playoff series. This can add up to 4 more games to your schedule.
What happens to a game if it is rained out?
Team managers will coordinate a time that works for as many of the families on their team as possible.
Can my child play on a team with their best friend or a previous coach?
We will NOT be processing team and/or coach requests. If a player or family has special circumstances, a request must be submitted to the WYB board for review and approval for special consideration during the team forming process.
When does the season start and end?
Registration Opens - 12/16/21
Registration Closes - 3/25/22
Tentative Opening of Season - Week of 5/2/22
- Tentative Closing of Season - Week of 7/11/22
When are practices held?
In April after teams are formed, the girls and boys vice presidents will work with the coaches to schedule practices according to field availability. This is typically weeknights after 4:30pm or weekends during the day. Depending on the division, there can be anywhere from 2 to 4 practices.
How can I fulfill my volunteer commitment? (Select Teams only)
Whitnall is always looking for people to help coach and manage our teams. It's a great way to bond with your kids! In addition there are various labor jobs that need to get done at the park including the perennial favorite of a few shifts at the concession stand. The details and process for our volunteer requirements are on the Volunteer Page.
Can I register in person?
Absolutely! In-person registration will be determined and posted on our home page. Watch our Facebook page as well.
I have three kids that are looking to play. How much will that cost?
Add up the league fees listed above for the division your kids will be playing in. If you fulfill your volunteer commitment and sell all of your fundraising cards, that's the most you'll pay!
My child has never played ball before, can they play or are there tryouts?
Our recreation league is the perfect place to start! Just register and we'll put you on a team. Don't forget to get plenty of practice at home!
with any questions and we'll get back to your shortly.
